The Heart of Man, Part 2b
Lion of Judah Worship Center Ministries, Pastor E. C. Dowdy
We started the New Year with a series on the heart of man, what it is and how the contents thereof impact our lives. Our focus continues to revolve around the fact that God searches the heart. Jesus gave a dire description of the contents of the heart of man under the authority of the prince of darkness. See Matt. 15:19 and Mark 7:20-23. Then we exhale and remember He said in Matt. 5:8, “Only the pure in heart shall see God.” What we are examining in this mini-series is the transformation from our hearts being toxic landfills to pastures of purity that accommodate the presence of the living God.
We are told the Word of God is pure; we are to meditate on that Word of pureness that will cleanse our hearts, renew our minds, cast out fear, and restore our souls. Isn’t God awesome!!!
What is the heart of man? We can look at the heart as a data collection center, because the spirit, mind, and other soul portions feed into the heart. That is how our ideas, beliefs, actions, and thoughts receive operating instructions. Prov. 23:7 tells us: “As a man thinks in his heart, so is he.” What is the default system that is capturing most of the available heart space? It should be the reborn spirit of man that receives data from the throne via the Holy Spirit. That is the impetus of hiding His Word in our hearts that we might not sin against Him. Those who have failed to plant the Word are referred to as babes in I Cor. 3:3; there has been no changes in their attitudes, behavior, or lifestyle patterns. After the initial confession of Jesus as savior, the love of God did not receive sufficient God life nutrients to transform the contents of the heart. Read the synoptic gospels about the sower sowing the Word in Matt. 13:1-23; Mark 4:3-20; and Luke 8:5-15. Notice the hearts that did not produce the fruit of God’s Word!!!!!

Foundation Scripture for LOJWC Ministry:
“For assuredly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be removed and be cast into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things he says will be done, he will have whatever he says.” Mark 11:23
What We Believe:
We believe in God, the Father, Almighty, and in Jesus Christ, his only begotten Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the power of the Holy Spirit, born of the virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead, and buried. On the third day he rose again according to Scripture. He ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of God the Father, from whence he shall come to judge the living and the dead. We believe in the Holy Spirit, the third person of the God-head, who revealed himself on the day of Pentecost. We believe in the gifts of the Spirit and their continuous operation in the body of Christ. And we believe in one holy, universal, and apostolic church. Amen.
Faith Confession:
We conduct spiritual warfare. It begins with us as we speak God’s word and speak to our bodies, minds, and emotions. Therefore we make a faith confession which says: “Satan, in the Name of Jesus, I declare this body a sickness-disease-free zone. Every germ, virus, bacterium, etc., that touches this body dies instantly in the name of Jesus, who bore my sicknesses, carried my diseases, and by whose stripes I have been healed. Therefore I command life into every cell in this body, I receive healing for my emotions from every past embedded hurtful, fearful memory. I speak active deliverance from the law of sin and death, according to the finished works of Jesus the Christ, the anointed and His anointing.”
