Growing Love In Our Hearts, Part 1

Lion of Judah Worship Center Ministries, Pastor E. C. Dowdy

Scriptural Text — I John 4:7 “Beloved let us love one another: for love is of God, and everyone that loveth is born of God and knoweth God.” Verse 8: “He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love.”

This letter (epistle) is known as the love letter/book, for in it is chronicled the love of God. It shows the importance of our growing love in our hearts, and how God’s love should be default system we operate from as believers.

If you are wondering why we started the New Year off with a Message on the growth of love, excellent! We many times struggle with the love issue. We may have fallen into the deception trap that God’s love requires a degree of weakness, that we as self-sufficient beings are quite capable of handling many of the love/hate issues.

Our hearts, the center of our being, the place where God searches, must reflect who is in charge. In Matthew 15:18-20 we hear Jesus expounding on the contents of the heart: “But those things which proceed out of the mouth come from the heart: and they defile the man. (19) For out of the heart proceed evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false witness, blasphemies. (20) These are the things that defile a man: but to eat with unwashed hands defileth not a man.”

Now the word defile means to make unclean; if the contents of the previous spiritual parent are still in our hearts, we have a problem trying to live by God’s rules. That is why we have closet sinners active and operating in the church. Now in Matthew 5:8 as Jesus is teaching on the beatitudes he stated “only the pure in heart shall see God.” Dilemma!

If our hearts are still filled with the contents of the previous owner, and we are trying to merge the operating systems, we can easily become overwhelmed.

The Holy Spirit’s instructions to me during the latter part of 2021 was to focus on heart cleansing in 2022. No matter how religious we believe we are, there are times we regurgitate something from the old life. God’s Word tells us that if any man is in Christ he is a new creation (II Cor. 5:17).

So be encouraged to plant the Word of the living God in our hearts that we may grow and produce fruit.

Listen now: The service has been separated into three parts, like a delectable meal prepared specially for you. Be blessed!

Healing and Deliverance

Foundation Scripture for LOJWC Ministry:

For assuredly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be removed and be cast into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things he says will be done, he will have whatever he says. Mark 11:23

What We Believe:

We believe in God, the Father, Almighty, and in Jesus Christ, his only begotten Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the power of the Holy Spirit, born of the virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead, and buried. On the third day he rose again according to Scripture. He ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of God the Father, from whence he shall come to judge the living and the dead. We believe in the Holy Spirit, the third person of the God-head, who revealed himself on the day of Pentecost. We believe in the gifts of the Spirit and their continuous operation in the body of Christ. And we believe in one holy, universal, and apostolic church. Amen.

Faith Confession:

We conduct spiritual warfare. It begins with us as we speak God’s word and speak to our bodies, minds, and emotions. Therefore we make a faith confession which says: “Satan, in the Name of Jesus, I declare this body a sickness-disease-free zone. Every germ, virus, bacterium, etc., that touches this body dies instantly in the name of Jesus, who bore my sicknesses, carried my diseases, and by whose stripes I have been healed. Therefore I command life into every cell in this body, I receive healing for my emotions from every past embedded hurtful, fearful memory. I speak active deliverance from the law of sin and death, according to the finished works of Jesus the Christ, the anointed and His anointing.
