Is This Experience an Attack Or?

I Peter 4:12-13

There are times when things happen that temporarily knock us down—it is those times that we wonder how that could have happened. Are we harboring secret sin? Is this a test from God? Has temptation entered the picture? Since each of these situations require a different response, we are going to create a template to help us, with the help of the Spirit of course, to focus on our response to temptation, tests, and attacks. What is the difference? If I am being tempted, then just as Joseph in Genesis 39:9 I want to resist. This was when Mrs. Potiphar had decided on creating an liaison with him. Though he resisted the temptation, it led to prison time for him, but that prison time led to him rising above the Potiphar’s in a position of leadership. Not every temptation is going to lead to those results, yet we are still to use every fiber of resistance within us to stand true to God’s tenets.

Tests: Sometimes we really have problems understanding the circumstances that happen when God Himself is testing us. His tests are to teach us something needed to leave that level and increase. If indeed it is a test, I want to learn the lesson, so I don’t have to repeat the same grade again. See James 1:2-8. How will we know? James just told us if any man lacks wisdom, let him ask of God who gives liberally, without upbraiding. Remember, Job’s dilemma was God bragging on him.

The third one is often the most misunderstood: we as believers don’t always know or believe that we are in warfare, that the prince of darkness is our mortal enemy, because we belong to Jesus. The only weapon he has to use against us is deception. When Jesus defeated powers, He stripped Satan of the weapons used to keep us in bondage. However, if we are not aware of how to react, how to stand, we remain blinded by circumstances/situations that Jesus delivered us from. Ephesians 6:10-18 outlines a set of weapons God has provided for us. II Timothy 1:7 reveals that God has not given us a spirit of fear. Romans 8:15 says we have not received the spirit of bondage again, that we should fear, but we have received the spirit of Adoption. II Cor. 10:3-5 informs us of the weapons God has provided. Luke 10:19 details that when Jesus sent the seventy out and gave them authority, they returned joyful that even the demons were subject to His Name.

Whether you believe in spiritual warfare or not, check out those scriptures and see what God has to say to us about satanic attacks. Yes, they take many forms. That is why we need listening ears, to hear what the Spirit is instructing us to do.

Is this experience an attack? Check to see what we have been delivered from. You will find this as you peruse the epistles from Romans to Jude. Then you will know how to respond. God says His people pray to Him for deliverance from things He has given us authority to handle. Remember the power of binding and loosing, speaking to the mountain. Yes, saints of the living God, attacks from the kingdom of darkness visit all of us. They should strengthen our faith in the living God, not decrease it due to fear, doubt, and unbelief. All of the miracle working power of Jesus when He walked the earth in a human manifestation is embedded in His Name, that is why we speak/pray/command in His Name to release the power by faith in His name. It is a power of attorney.

Healing and Deliverance

Foundation Scripture for LOJWC Ministry:

For assuredly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be removed and be cast into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things he says will be done, he will have whatever he says. Mark 11:23

What We Believe:

We believe in God, the Father, Almighty, and in Jesus Christ, his only begotten Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the power of the Holy Spirit, born of the virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead, and buried. On the third day he rose again according to Scripture. He ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of God the Father, from whence he shall come to judge the living and the dead. We believe in the Holy Spirit, the third person of the God-head, who revealed himself on the day of Pentecost. We believe in the gifts of the Spirit and their continuous operation in the body of Christ. And we believe in one holy, universal, and apostolic church. Amen.

Faith Confession:

We conduct spiritual warfare. It begins with us as we speak God’s word and speak to our bodies, minds, and emotions. Therefore we make a faith confession which says: “Satan, in the Name of Jesus, I declare this body a sickness-disease-free zone. Every germ, virus, bacterium, etc., that touches this body dies instantly in the name of Jesus, who bore my sicknesses, carried my diseases, and by whose stripes I have been healed. Therefore I command life into every cell in this body, I receive healing for my emotions from every past embedded hurtful, fearful memory. I speak active deliverance from the law of sin and death, according to the finished works of Jesus the Christ, the anointed and His anointing.
