Heart Preparation

Today we return to the importance of preparing our hearts to become repositories of the incorruptible Word of the living God. We come into this conversation as some of the elders of Israel came to the prophet to get a word from God. Sounds like the right thing to do, get on the same page as God, get His wisdom and instruction. But God steps up and tells the prophet they have come seeking a Word from Him with their idols in their hearts.

Now our idea of idols are those little figurines we see in shops, but the idea of idol worship does not stop there. Anything we set as number one, if we are believers in Yeshua, becomes an idol because it is usurping the place where worship of God should reside. So yes, church of the living God, we can and often do worship other gods too numerous to mention, and like the elders, many of them are hidden out of sight in our hearts.

Heart: first used in Genesis 6:5, when God’s heart was grieved that He had created man, and the imaginations and thoughts of men’s heart were continually evil. What is that place referred to as the “Heart”? Strong’s concordance defines it as the center (labe), the inner man, the real person. Remember God looks on the heart of man. See I Samuel 16:7. We are judged by the contents of our hearts, see Matt. 5:8. “Only the pure in heart shall see God.” Then compare it with Matt. 15:19-20a: “For out of the heart flows evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false witnesses, blasphemies. These are the things that defile a man and make him unclean…”

That is why we have given our attention to the contents of our hearts, preparing them to become repositories of the Word requires work. Taking the sword of the spirit, the Word, the blood, and the Spirit to cleanse and purify our hearts.

How did all those toxic substances enter our hearts? The heart is the data center, for out of it flows the issues of life; from the abundance of the heart, the mouth speaks [clips from the Word]. Don’t get dis-heartened, God has never told us to do anything that He has not provided all the tools of implementation. So it is with Heart Preparation! God, our Abba, Jesus our redeemer, and the Spirit, our guide, is with us each and every second as we transform the contents left over from the former spiritual parent. When the fall of man occurred, the spirit of man died, there was no direct communication with God. That is what “born again” means, when we accepted Jesus as Savior, our spirits were born again, but the soul, mind, body, etc., were not. So the same sewer continues to pour into our hearts. Romans 12:2 says, ”Be not conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.”

Entry points into our hearts include the eye gates, ear gates, mindset, thoughts, life style, and the mind-heart connection—all these streams feed into the heart. That is why we must of necessity fill our spirits with the Word of the living God, so it can flow into our hearts. When our hearts are filled with the Word, we become dangerous to the kingdom of darkness.Take Bible, notebook, pen, and determination to transform our hearts from taverns to temples.

Key Scriptures

Ezekiel 14:1–3 NKJV
Now some of the elders of Israel came to me and sat before me. And the word of the LORD came to me, saying, “Son of man, these men have set up their idols in their hearts, and put before them that which causes them to stumble into iniquity.

Listen now: The service has been separated into three parts, like a delectable meal prepared specially for you. Be blessed!

Healing and Deliverance

Foundation Scripture for LOJWC Ministry:

For assuredly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be removed and be cast into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things he says will be done, he will have whatever he says. Mark 11:23

What We Believe:

We believe in God, the Father, Almighty, and in Jesus Christ, his only begotten Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the power of the Holy Spirit, born of the virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead, and buried. On the third day he rose again according to Scripture. He ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of God the Father, from whence he shall come to judge the living and the dead. We believe in the Holy Spirit, the third person of the God-head, who revealed himself on the day of Pentecost. We believe in the gifts of the Spirit and their continuous operation in the body of Christ. And we believe in one holy, universal, and apostolic church. Amen.

Faith Confession:

We conduct spiritual warfare. It begins with us as we speak God’s word and speak to our bodies, minds, and emotions. Therefore we make a faith confession which says: “Satan, in the Name of Jesus, I declare this body a sickness-disease-free zone. Every germ, virus, bacterium, etc., that touches this body dies instantly in the name of Jesus, who bore my sicknesses, carried my diseases, and by whose stripes I have been healed. Therefore I command life into every cell in this body, I receive healing for my emotions from every past embedded hurtful, fearful memory. I speak active deliverance from the law of sin and death, according to the finished works of Jesus the Christ, the anointed and His anointing.
