PROMISED LAND ATTITUDE, PART 2

The promised land for believers in Jesus Christ is not heaven. Yes, we look forward to heaven! But there’s more! What is that promised land? The promised land—the Kingdom of God—is wherever we are. The place we find ourselves can be transformed into the promised land.

What is God’s rest? Look at the Israelites, the physical descendants of Abraham, on their journey from Egypt to the promised land in Canaan. The promised land was a land of rest because the land would readily and easily give it’s increase to the seed placed in it. The toil would not be as rigorous as it was in the land of bondage. When the Israelites lacked water and meat on the journey, God revealed Himself to them so they would know that He is all sufficient. God did that even before they reached the physical promised land. Everything they needed could be found in Him, because God made a provision for it. That was under the first covenant. We are under a better covenant through Jesus Christ.

The kingdom of God is within us. (See Luke 17:21.) The kingdom of God and the kingdom of heaven are not exactly the same. The kingdom of heaven is what happens in heaven. The kingdom of God is wherever the righteous people of God are. That brings the King’s domain to the physical location. Therefore, we must prepare our mindset to be partakers of the fullness of the kingdom of God, so we can operate in it.

Are we operating in the kingdom of God? Are we speaking God’s Word? Are you saying what God says about you? You can’t confess God’s Word one day and then change your words the next day. That will short-circuit the words of faith. Plant and nurture the Word seeds that produce godly fruit. So we must keep those promises in our heart, to replace the negative mindset.

If we have a need, God has addressed it in His Word and placed the promise under the authority of Jesus. How does that translate to a promised land attitude? We must have confidence in God’s work and mix it with faith! Don’t let anyone pour water on your faith. For more insight, listen to this message delivered by Dr. Dowdy on January 17, 2021.

Key Scriptures
Hebrews 4:9–11

There remains therefore a rest for the people of God. 10 For he who has entered His rest has himself also ceased from his works as God did from His. 11 Let us therefore be diligent to enter that rest, lest anyone fall according to the same example of disobedience.

Healing–Deliverance

Foundation Scripture for LOJWC Ministry:

For assuredly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be removed and be cast into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things he says will be done, he will have whatever he says. Mark 11:23

What We Believe:

We believe in God, the Father, Almighty, and in Jesus Christ, his only begotten Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the power of the Holy Spirit, born of the virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead, and buried. On the third day he rose again according to Scripture. He ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of God the Father, from whence he shall come to judge the living and the dead. We believe in the Holy Spirit, the third person of the God-head, who revealed himself on the day of Pentecost. We believe in the gifts of the Spirit and their continuous operation in the body of Christ. And we believe in one holy, universal, and apostolic church. Amen.

Faith Confession:

We conduct spiritual warfare. It begins with us as we speak God’s word and speak to our bodies, minds, and emotions. Therefore we make a faith confession which says: “Satan, in the Name of Jesus, I declare this body a sickness-disease-free zone. Every germ, virus, bacterium, etc., that touches this body dies instantly in the name of Jesus, who bore my sicknesses, carried my diseases, and by whose stripes I have been healed. Therefore I command life into every cell in this body, I receive healing for my emotions from every past embedded hurtful, fearful memory. I speak active deliverance from the law of sin and death, according to the finished works of Jesus the Christ, the anointed and His anointing.
