When you pray, believe that you’ve received. Prayer and faith go together like twins. Belief is the cornerstone of faith. Faith gives substance to hope and provides evidence of things not seen. Prayer is the hand of faith that reaches out to receive. Believers tend to get caught on the phrase “if it be your will.” What is God’s will? The Word of God is God’s will. God made this clear for us so that there will be no confusion. We need to learn to establish a faith template. That will help us pray boldly, with faith, as Jesus called us to do. Listen to this message delivered by Dr. Dowdy on April 2, 2017, with key Scripture 1 John 5:14–15.
1 John5:14–15 AMP:
This is the [remarkable degree of] confidence which we [as believers are entitled to] have before Him: that if we ask anything according to His will, [that is, consistent with His plan and purpose] He hears us. And if we know [for a fact, as indeed we do] that He hears and listens to us in whatever we ask, we [also] know [with settled and absolute knowledge] that we have [granted to us] the requests which we have asked from Him.
