When we are born again, our spirits are reborn, and the Holy Spirit takes up residence to transform us from the inside out. The initial residence of the Holy Spirit in our lives results in our growth. But immersion baptism in the Holy Spirit is for witnessing. In this baptism, He provides the ability to go forth. There is much confusion in the body of Christ about this difference.

Just because you receive Jesus doesn’t mean you’re battle ready. Listen to this message delivered by Dr. Dowdy on June 5, 2016, based on Acts 1:8, to understand what that means.

“But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.” Acts 1:8 NIV
